Justine, the question you have posted is not the one I agreed. This is important as you are giving far too much weight to the effects debate in your question, and also, as I have warned everyone, suggesting too much of an approach to your research before you have even begun! The question should be much simpler - eg How much can we explain the success of Skins and Gossip Girl through their representations of teenage lifestyle? You will get into deep water, and outdated approaches if you start with the view that they influence negatively. See what you find out about their importance through your research. Also, on your list above for secondary research, you have included textual analysis. This is primary research. Read your methods booklet carefully.
ReplyDeleteJustine - you still need to amend as in my previous comments. Also, look at Broadcast magazine, and the guardian etc for articles on these programmes, plus books in library on tv drama.
